"Frida is adopted by her aunt and uncle after the loss of her mother. In fact, we watch the whole film as their neighbors who see them from a distance and never speak to them during the summer. I was deeply shaken by this energetic but mostly sad life story. “I have told my story so many times that it has almost become a myth,” says Carla Simon, who told her own life story and received awards. I’m glad it did."
